A few years ago I started recycling. I’ve never been what you consider an outdoorsy type but I do appreciate nature and all she has to offer. As a human I’ve realized that I can’t continue to just live. I have to be more aware of the waste and pollution I put into the atmosphere. Actually I’m also concerned about the waste and pollution that others put out as well. I’m looking to upgrade to a portable solar battery charger. This decision has been fueled by my always drained cellphone battery, my refusal to purchase another car charger (it gets expensive to buy a new one every time I upgrade) and my goal to use more sunlight.
In addition to getting the portable solar battery charger for my phone I’m also looking for an alternative charging method for my laptop. I’m looking to put some furniture on the patio so I can sit out and enjoy the sun. Typically when I’m home in the daytime I open the curtains and let the sunlight fill the house but I’ve been thinking…explosion here…I want to get out more and soak up the fresh air. Most of the day I’m on my laptop and since “Old Faithful” doesn’t hold a charge long I’ll need to keep the battery charged. So the solar battery charger will help me out on this end as well. Can’t you picture me on the patio working and drinking ice-cold mojitos water?
As inhabitants of this earth we have to do more to clean up the environment for ourselves and our children and their children. We can not continue to mindlessly wander around using all the earth’s resources as if they’ll last forever…
So what about you. Have you tried solar power?

If it’s environmentally friendly and has so many benefits, why not?

I am always looking for little ways to reduce my carbon footprint. This sounds like an easy way to become more environmentally friendly. I will have to look more into it.

I would love to get a solar powered charger for my iPhone. I have to charge the darn thing every day and it would be awesome if I could do that using the sun.

That seems pretty cool! I am an avid recylcler, but unfortunately, that is as far as I’ve gotten. Something like a solar powered battery charger would be easy to transition to!

Car charger – i use iGo from Radio Shack. I think it was $30 initially, which includes your 1st “tip”. When you get a new phone, you simply purchase a new “tip”. They were $10 for the last few years, but I’m not sure if the price has changed. That saves me a ton of money on car chargers. Enjoy your ice cold water!!!
