About Spinks

I started Notorious Spinks Talks as a book blog in 2009.  However, I felt a void because I had so much to say and share but I didn’t feel my book blog was appropriate.  That is why I started this blog.  Now I can cover a myriad of issues that I feel are important.  You can also get my two “sense” on books, brands, culture, and events.  My purpose is to use this blog as a soapbox tool to share relevant information with those who can use it.

In addition to being a full-time blogger and natural-hair cutie, I’m a stay-at-home aunt to 2-year-old Ja and 7-month-old Kay.  If you ask them they’ll probably say that caring for them is my most important job and I just might have to agree.

When I’m not telling Ja to stop standing in front of the television or letting Kay jump in my lap as she laughs hysterically I’m doing some other things that I love.

• Community Education Specialist – I specialize in the topic of infant mortality and preconception health.  I do presentations and workshops for community groups, corporations and youth groups.
• Public Relations Specialist – I specialize in assisting companies and individuals on brand perfection.  I also offer other services such as writing & distributing press releases, business coaching and virtual assistant services.
• Book Reviewer – I review books at www.books.notoriousspinks.com (formerly www.notoriousspinkstalks.com) and at The Page Turners.
• Social Media Business Manager – I assist business and brands enhance their social presence using social media outlets and blogs.

Yes, I do a lot.  But hey who doesn’t?  My goal is simple: To use social media to spark social change.
